Do you accept health insurance plans?

I have decided not to sign contracts with any insurance companies so my services are reimbursed as an out of network provider. I will provide you with a detailed superbill after each visit which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Some of my patients receive full reimbursements, while others can only count it towards their yearly deductibles. This all depends upon your insurance company and individual plan.

What can I expect during my first visit? Is there anything I should wear or bring with me?

Please be comfortable! If you’re visiting us because you experience joint pain, I will need to examine those areas. Bring any relevant medical records with you, including lab tests, X-rays, and MRIs conducted in the last three years.

During your visit, I will ask you about your challenges and goals, then perform an exam based on our conversation. After evaluation, we will go over treatment options. If possible, your treatment will begin on your first visit.

How are you different from a chiropractor?

Chiropractors often specialize in the misalignment of bones in the spine. As a licensed osteopathic physician (DO) and acupuncturist, I will examine your whole body for obstructions and underlying causes of pain, offering you a more holistic and much more impactful treatment. Osteopathic manipulation treatments are also much more gentle than chiropractic adjustments.

Is there risk of harm when treating children, especially newborns?

Rest assured your child is in good hands! Osteopathic manipulation is a safe way to optimize your baby’s development. Using a gentle hands-on treatment, I identify and remove obstructions that may hinder your child’s body and/or brain from growing naturally. With newborns, most of the treatment can be performed while you hold your baby — your child may even fall asleep!

Will I experience any pain during treatment?

During Prolotherapy Treatment

Some patients may experience slight to mild soreness after prolotherapy or PRP treatment caused by the body's inflammatory response to the injections. This is normal and expected. As with any inflammation, you will likely feel sore and experience slight discomfort over the next 48-72 hours following treatment depending on the area treated. During this period, I recommend not overstraining the area.

During Acupuncture

Our patients report feeling little to no pain during the acupuncture treatment itself. If it does occur, post-acupuncture soreness typically lasts less than 24 hours.

During Osteopathic Manipulation Therapy (OMT) and Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

Any soreness felt after osteopathic manipulation is normally as a result of your body adapting to re-alignment. Osteopathic manipulation is a very gentle treatment that many patients report as feeling great.

How often will I need to be seen, and for how long?

This can vary from patient to patient. You may need to come in weekly and as your body begins to respond to the treatment, we may schedule appointments less frequently, perhaps every 2-3 weeks. On average, recovery can take 5 treatments.

After initial recovery, quarterly visits can help maintain your wellness. My goal is to help your body heal itself.

Are there any side effects to your treatments?

Osteopathic treatments are well-tolerated by patients, and at worst cause mild soreness. This discomfort often subsides a day or two after treatment.

  • Osteopathic manipulation is a very gentle treatment that many patients report feels great. By working with your body instead of “popping” bones back into place, you experience minimal side effects.

  • If it occurs, post-acupuncture soreness typically lasts less than 24 hours.

  • Since prolotherapy causes an inflammatory reaction, you may feel soreness for 1-4 days after an injection. If you are nervous about prolotherapy injections, we can discuss options to minimize your anxiety and discomfort.
